Recounting the “considerable economic potentials” of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, called for further expansion of economic cooperation between Iran and Georgia.
The Iranian diplomatic chief made the remarks on Monday in Tehran while receiving the visiting Georgian First Vice-Prime Minister who also serves as Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitry Kumsishvili.
“There are numerous economic opportunities in Georgia which can have Iranian companies’ contribution as Georgian officials welcome Iran’s presence in their country,” said Kumsishvili for his part.
After voicing his content for visiting the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Georgian official said, “the relations between the two countries are friendly and growing and there are many projects that can be done with the help of Iranian companies.”
The two sides then exchanged views on other areas of cooperation between the two countries, especially transit, cooperation with other countries of the region to create a transportation corridor, banking relations, energy and tourism. They also conferred on how to remove obstacles obstructing the expansion of bilateral ties.
